Roundabouts Review
I was excited when I found out I had the chance to review Roundabouts Cupcake Sleeves. I love making cupcakes but most of the time I am not happy with the boring cupcake papers available in stores. Either I have to choose between that plain Jane package of pink, yellow, white and green or a decorative cupcake paper that doesn't go with my theme. The Roundabout Cupcake Sleeves take care of that.
10 Little-known Facts About E-cigarettes
The electronic cigarette was introduced to the U.S. market in 2007 and offers the nicotine-addicted an alternative to smoking tobacco. Most "e-cigs" are similar enough in appearance to be mistaken for regular cigarettes, but one look inside and you'll see the main difference: E-cigarettes don't contain tobacco. Instead, there's a mechanism that heats up liquid nicotine, which turns into a vapor that smokers inhale and exhale. Manufacturers and satisfied customers say that this nicotine vapor offers many advantages over traditional cigarette smoke. But regulatory agencies and some health experts aren't sure. They're asking questions about the possible side effects of inhaling nicotine vapor, as well as other health risks e-cigarettes may pose -- both to users and to the public. Those calling for tight regulations on e-cigarettes claim that these devices should be deemed illegal until the proper research trials have been conducted to prove that they're safe.
Getting to Know Me Monday
It's time for you to get to know me a little more...
My Monday question of the week... Are you planning on going on vacation in 2011? Are you saving up already?
Answer:
There's no plan at this moment. I have other stuff to focus on first that are more important. I would love to go on a vacation to somewhere warm, but I don't feel well enough to go. In just a month I'm having surgery, and I have so much on my mind. Maybe in a year I will be mentally and physically ready for a vacation.

Lazy Cat? Fun Games to Play
I'm not sure exactly why or when the change took place. All I know is that my cat Mitzi went from being a curtain-climbing, ball-chasing little hellion to a plump and bored-looking adult cat who spent most of her time draped over the back of my couch like a wet dishrag.
Sure. I know cats are supposed to sleep and lounge a lot, but I also know that they need to play -- at least some of the time. After all, cats get many of the same physical, mental, and emotional benefits from exercise that we do.

Eczema 101
The basics of this common skin condition
According to the Eczema Society of Canada, about 15 to 20% of the population suffers from eczema. Maybe you know someone who has it—or you might even have it yourself. We spoke to dermatologist Dr. Alfred Balbul for the basics of the condition.
What are the characteristics of eczema?
“Eczema is characterized by a skin inflammation; dry lesions, as well as itchiness and red patches. In certain cases, the itchiness and redness are so intense that people scratch themselves until they bleed, which increases the risks of a second infection,” says Dr. Balbul.

My Friday Complaining!
You know what time it is? It's my Friday Complaining time! This is a good time to vent on this weeks shit! (It's okay to say it-it's not a bad word!) To whom/what would you like to say Fawk You to today?
I'm sick and tired of the woman that lives above me. The bitch keeps walking back and forth in heals on the hardwood floor. Does she not have a brain and think that it could be disturbing the person below her? No, of course not! And my neighbour next to me is cooking right now, and damn does it ever smell good. I think she's making a roast... and it smells good even though I haven't eaten meat in a few months. I suddenly feel like a vampire and craving the flesh and blood of the animal. It makes me want to knock on her door and invite myself over for dinner! Grrr! Shame on me... I can't hurt any poor animals.
Some Old Memories
I'm not able to sleep so I'm listening to the Bon Jovi Greatest Hits CD, that my mother gave me for Christmas. I've seen him twice so far in concert and I have to say he's one of my favourite musicians.

ReBinder: No Landfill Required! (Review)
I've been recycling for so many years now, and it all started back in elementary school. Times since then sure have changed... almost everything can be recycled now. I also choose eco-friendly products over their conventional alternatives every chance I get. Recently, I received a sample pack of Rebinder's green office products.
Rebinder offers products for office and school use, which are made from recycled materials. They offer items like: recycled binders, CD sleeves, folders and more. The sample pack that was sent to me included: two-pocket folder, two 3 ring binders, pouch, 5 tab dividers, CD sleeve and jewel case, badge, 5" x 8" notebook, and a clear cover that looks like plastic but is made from plants.
Wednesday, 19 January 2011
It's almost midnight and I can't believe that I didn't realize it's Wednesday! I was thinking it was a Tuesday... I must be losing my mind. I probably didn't realise it since I slept half of the day away... the wonderful monthly PCOS is taking its toll on me. I also spent a couple hours dealing with my cell phone provider, coming to the conclusion that I will be switching companies.
I'm sitting here watching my cat bite his toe nails. He's really going to town on them! Anyone else notice their cat biting their nails? I guess it's normal... I bite my nails when I'm bored or stressed. Time to pass out... will fill your heads with more boring crap tomorrow!

Post-it Note Tuesday
It's Post it Note Tuesday again... time to play with sticky notes!
They can be fun, lighthearted, notes to self, to do lists or just plain bitch notes left for others. Your choice. Get creative.
For some reason my computer keeps messing up when it comes to making the Post-it Notes, so today's version will just be me writing. If I spend anymore time trying to figure out what's going on with the damn computer, I will loose my mind!

Death of a Blogger
Forget science's immortality aspirations, as death is inevitable.
Often feared and maligned, death is simply the epitome of a life.
It's the only thing that sees no color, no creed, no age and no social class. As such, we all sooner or later get to meet it.
Pissed at the Furbaby for Pissing on Me
I've been awake since 3am and I'm not impressed. I'm very pissed at Mr Jingles... he woke me up meowing and then pissed on my bed. What the hell is wrong with my cat? I had just flipped the mattress over a few days back and put fresh sheets on. He had ruined the other side of my mattress from peeing on it before. I tried everything in the past to get rid of the pee smell, and nothing worked. Now he pissed on my bed again! I'm furious with the Butterball Turkey of a cat... he's bad.
4 Important Things to Know About Laparoscopy
People who are planning to undergo laparoscopy should understand that the procedure uses a laparoscope and specialized surgical instruments inside the patient’s abdomen, it can help diagnose and treat the cause of infertility and other health conditions, extensive preparations have to be made prior to the procedure, and the patient’s abdomen will be filled with carbon dioxide gas to make room for the laparoscope.

Medical Update
I feel lost when I don't write anything on my blog. It's been two days, and since then I've seen the surgeon. I am scheduled for surgery March 8th, and I'm excited... as well as a little nervous. I just keep telling myself that it's perfect timing for this coming summer. I should be able to lose enough weight for the hot weather, that I wont feel so uncomfortable in my skin. I just pray that everything goes okay.

The Scary Truth
Tomorrow is a big day. Why you may ask? Well... I meet with the gastric bypass surgeon to schedule the date for surgery. Yep, I'm still planning on going through with it. My family was surprised that I didn't change my mind. I guess my mom thought that after my last surgery to have my right ovary and fallopian tube removed, that I would change my mind about this. With all the problems that I've been having with the PCOS, not a doubt in my mind that I want this surgery.

Do Cats Dream?
There she was, sleeping the day away on top of the washing machine. As usual. That's what Lucy does. Then, out of nowhere, she started her unconscious antics: whiskers were twitching, ears were fluttering, even her paws and tail were having little spasms. Next came the eerie noises that were unlike any meow I'd ever heard. It wasn't the first time I'd seen such a display, but it was definitely one of the more dramatic.
