Time to invest in your child's future #investing #insurance

Grandma & Brianna, © 2025 thismomneedswine.com

I've
been working in the insurance industry for over four years, and I love it. I made the change during Covid, when I was laid off from my dispatching job in the pest control field, since the world was under lockdown. I was hired by one of the top known Insurance companies in Canada and earned my RIBO license. It started as a remote position, but I was forced back into the office once things started to go back to normal.

Originally, I lived in Toronto, Ontario and that would have been doable, but I moved and bought a house in Barrie, Ontario. I sold my condo and bought a house up north with my mother, since prices were too high in the GTA. Mom and my grandmother were renting a two-bedroom apartment for about $1200 a month, and my mortgage was about the same monthly, so it made sense to just be under one roof. Mom would help me with my daughter, and I'd help her with caring for grandma with her worsening Alzheimer's.

There was no way I was going to spend over 12 hours commuting by train and missing out on so many milestones with my child. Switching companies at that time for a remote job was the best decision I’ve made, and I love where I work.

What do I do for work? Well, I’m a personal lines insurance advisor and I'm basically the person who processes the home and auto policies. If you’re needing a new home or auto policy, I can hook you up with the best coverage at a reasonable price. With the way that the economy is going, along with climate change, people are shopping around for the best deals. The industry is in high demand, as you never know what tomorrow holds. With that said, one of the most important things is to make sure that I’m protected. Not just protecting my life but also saving for my children's future.

Life With a Pet: Horse Insurance is an Option

Horse owners want to protect their horse or horses from illness or injury. Horse medical insurance helps horse owners pay expensive veterinary hospital or surgical bills. If the owner already carries a full mortality policy on the horse, it’s a relatively simple task to add medical insurance now. Most insurance companies don’t offer horse medical policies as a stand-alone financial product.

If the horse is healthy, most insurers agree to cover his or her medical and/or surgical needs within a 24-hour period.

Some equine insurers cover the horse from the age of just 24 hours to 31 days. Most insurers won’t write equine medical insurance after the horse turns 20 years old. Some carriers won’t write medical insurance on a horse after he or she turns 18 years old. Premiums costs and coverage limits vary, so it’s best to compare several medical insurance policies at the start.

My Life Right Now

I have been awake for hours... why? I haven't been able to sleep well. I have so much on my mind... my mind just keeps wondering. I went to bed at a fairly decent time... I think around 11 PM or so, and I ended up waking up around 2:30 AM. I haven't been myself for quite some time now, and for those regular readers of my blog... you probably noticed that I haven't been writing anything personal. I started this blog to keep a health diary and writing my thoughts, feelings, and keep track of my daily mood. If I was stressed, I used to vent and release what was bothering me... I guess in a way a form of therapy to help release everything.

When I first started this blog, I didn't have many followers. It was created mainly for myself, and those that suffer from the same health issues that I've been going through. Since then, I've increased many followers and have quite a number of regular readers. I'm happy to hear from people that I've inspired them in some way, or helped along their own health journey. But, along the way... I have somewhat lost myself. What do you do when family and friends read your work? I'm honored .. but now what? How can I fully express myself? I feel like part of me has been taken... I can't fully open up. I've been going through so many MAJOR stressors the last little while, and I don't know how to handle it.

I've somewhat opened up about being depressed again, suffering from panic attacks, and my agoraphobia is at an all time high once again. Yes, I'm in therapy at the moment. Yes, I do enjoy it. Do I think that it's helping? Partially. I'm still a prisoner to my apartment... my agoraphobia has gotten the best of me. Most days I can't even do a simple task like taking the garbage down. People ask if I'm working... how I'm feeling, etc., and I have run out of excuses of what to say.

Since I'm battling this illness, I'm not able to work. Many people just say "snap out of it"... well I wish I could. Not even my husband fully understands the extent of my illness, and at times thinks I'm just lazy. I'm not lazy... I'm ill. Having a major breakdown and feeling suicidal isn't meant to be taken lightly, but at least I realized I needed help.

I'm still battling the insurance company, as I've had no income since March 2012. The line of credit is now completely maxed out, and it's almost at the point of not being able to pay rent, bills, and being able to eat. I can't really talk about the insurance/money situation any further, as a case is pending and I don't want it to affect the outcome.

I'm also stressed regarding the health of someone very dear to me. Once again I don't want to get into details, as she sometimes reads this blog. All I know is that I'd be lost without her... and I love her very much. If something happens to her, I don't know what mental state I'd be in... I pray everything will be okay.

What else to say... I have many things floating around in my mind, but I don't want to bore you further with my shit. I will be focusing this blog more on health, fitness, and keep the reviews to a minimum. Yes I know we all love product reviews and giveaways, but with my mental state it's very hard at the moment. Pray that I get better soon, and bless all of you who have me and my family in your prayers.

The Frustration... Insurance Assholes!

The last six months has been one of the most stressful and depressing times of my life. I finally admitted to my loved ones that it was my darkest days that I was facing, and that I was on my road to getting help. That was the main first step to recovery... and it's a constant battle with each passing day.

Medications have been altered, I've been going to both individual therapy as well as group therapy weekly. I've even been going to a cognitive therapy class weekly... which I'm actually enjoying. It sure doesn't help my condition that my insurance company has denied my appeal YET AGAIN. The sickness in my stomach, my chest, my whole body is driving me crazy. My anxiety is once again at an all time high... and it's very hard to control my thoughts.

Tomorrow I meet with a lawyer, and I pray that they will be able to kick the ass of the insurance company for me... I'm entitled to the disability insurance that I've been paying into every month! They have no problem taking my money for the insurance, but God forbid that I actually need it! I've been battling those assholes since March 2012... and I'm tired. I'm now in debt... and I want my friggin money that I'm entitled to.

Has anyone else had any problems with their insurance company?
