I wouldn't wish this disease on anyone, not even my worst enemy. Seeing your loved one forgetting everything from the current as well as the past. No longer able to take care of themselves... we do everything for her. Doing everything isn't an issue, that's minor, although it's mentally exhausting. Earlier she wanted to buy a card and send it to her parents for Christmas... wondering if they've put their Christmas tree up yet. She was thinking that she should give them a call, since it's been a while. Her mother has been dead for over 40 years, and father longer.

Alzheimer's has taken over our lives - #mentallytired #alzheimers #heartbroken #missmygrandma
I'm so damn tired and heartbroken. Over the last year there's been a huge decline in my grandmother with her Alzheimer's. Never in a million years did I think she'd get like this... never thought she'd get old and lose her mind. Her memory is getting worse by the day. She used to just be forgetful, but now she forgets everything within one minute of saying it. It's frustrating, annoying at times, but mostly heartbreaking.

It's been a crazy 6 months - #moving #family #stressed #anxiety
| Grandma & Brianna, © 2021 thismomneedswine.com |
It's been a long time since I've written anything on this blog, and I'm a bit disappointed about it. I started this blog many years ago as a form of therapy, and it helped me quite a bit. After I built a following, I almost felt like I couldn't fully be myself anymore... especially since some family members and people from work followed me. I guess at some point I kind of gave up and just went on with my life, and just struggled with some issues. So much has changed within the past year, and I can't believe it flew by so quick.
What's new with me? Well, I sold the condo that I was renting out and bought a house. Instead of two households (mom and grandma, and me and my daughter), all four generations are under the same roof. We moved from Toronto, Ontario to Barrie, Ontario... and I'm so happy to have moved away from the big city. I was getting tired of the possibility of violence, and the fast paced action of the city.

An Awesome Weekend With Family at the CNE!
![]() |
| Me & Brianna, © 2017 aspicyboycatandmyfatass.com |
This past weekend I spent Saturday with my family and childhood friend Mel at the CNE... which means summer is coming to an end. The last few weeks of the summer is always greeted with the Canadian National Exhibition here in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I've spent many summers visiting the attraction, and this was the first time that I brought my daughter. She's a little bit young for it, but she still LOVED it... at least up until she passed out from no nap!

Happy Weekend Everyone!
I wanted to say Happy Weekend to everyone!!! I'm currently at work and just wanted to do a quick update on things. For those of you who read my blog on a regular basis, you would most likely know that I currently only work on the weekends. Yes, I'm part time at the moment, since during the week I'm a stay at home mom. I normally work a 12 hour shift both Saturday's and Sunday's, but tomorrow I'm off since it's my cousin's wedding shower... I'm super excited about it. I'm excited about the shower, but I'm more excited to see my little monkey playing with all the other babies and kids that will be there! Even when I get a little alone time to myself, I always seem to miss the little monkey... I miss her right now!

Say A Prayer
Yesterday was incredibly stressful. I worked and my mother was picking me up so that we could head to my aunts house since they're away in the Virgin Islands. My cousin is getting married and the whole family went for the wedding, except my mom and myself.
When I got into the car after work I could see that my mother had tears in her eyes and I knew something was wrong. Grandma was in the hospital in The Virgin Islands and they were afraid she had a mild stroke. She also had Pneumonia pretty bad... her temperature was 102.5 and oxygen level was 88. I guess for some reason I always thought grandma would be here much longer... but this is definitely a wake up call... we could go at any time.
Later in the night we found out that it wasn't a stroke... thank God, but that she had the pneumonia really bad. It was so bad that she didn't even know where she was. She was still thinking that she was in Toronto, and that she was going to take the bus home. This is really scary... her being this sick and so far from home. She's almost in her 80's so it can be very dangerous when a senior gets pneumonia.
Everyone please pray for my grandma... she's my second parent... I love you grandma.
Please God... have an angel watch over her.
