I've Finally Reached my Goal! #weightloss #goals #healthylifestyle

I'm happy to say that I've reached my goal of getting down to 150 Lbs! Yes, it's taken me many years of ups and downs, but it finally happened. I've dreamt of this day for a long time and it's finally come. I had gastric bypass back in 2012 and lost a shitload of weight. I've been on Ozempic to help with the PCOS, which assisted me to drop the remainder of the weight. With perimenopause and the PCOS, the final 10 Lbs was killer. No matter how much walking and calorie counting I did, it wouldn't come off.

October 15, 2025 I had skin removal surgery: extended panniculectomy with diastasis recti repair - fleur de lis, unbilicoplasty and mons lift. It was a 2 hour surgery that went easier than I expected. The pain level was only about a 5 out of 10 and I was up walking within a few hours. I spent two nights at the hospital, which I laugh and call the mini vacation!

I've been sitting on this post for a bit... the first two paragraphs have been written for over a month, but for some reason I wasn't ready to publish. Guess I had a bit of writers block, or maybe just wasn't ready to dive further into things. I'm so happy with the results of the surgery, and am still healing. I've started going to the gym a few times a week. I attempted to try and get back on the elliptical, but died after just five minutes! I've really taken a liking to swimming instead... much easier on my knees and more fun since Brianna joins me.

I'm currently 145 Lbs, wearing a size medium or size 6... I haven't been this since high school. I'm on Ozempic but thinking of tapering off it slowly. Some people have mentioned that I'm losing too much weight... that my face is getting too thin. I personally would be happy to drop 5 - 10 Lbs more but increase muscle. I'm starting to realize that I have an eating disorder... always have, just this time it's not for overeating... it's for not eating enough. It's tiring trying to make sure to get enough protein, nutrients, etc. Taking it one day at a time and trying to remember to keep track of it on MyFitnessPal.

Summer is half over! #weightlossjourney #Ozempic #summerfun #camping

I can't believe the summer is half over already... it's the August civic long weekend coming up. It feels like just the other day I was planning the camping trip, and that's now long gone. It's been an awesome summer so far, and I don't want it to end.

At the beginning of July I went camping with my partner and our two kids to the KOA campground in Barrie. We borrowed my neighbours popup tent and camped for 7 days - which I must say there was some challenges along the way, but I can laugh at most of them. It started on July 2nd... we rented a truck to be able to tow the tent/trailer to the campsite. We had zero knowledge or instructions from U-Haul and ventured to the site. Well, we were on the way there and the damn trailer came off the hitch on a hill! Shit... we ended up blocking the small highway as people were passing us. Thank God 4 people pulled over to help us... didn't realize that we forgot to put the pin on the hitch, which made it bounce off. One of the gentlemen were kind enough to give us one of his that he had... thank you to the wonderful people who stopped and helped us that day. It's also a good thing that we didn't have any of the kids with us at that time... we wanted to go and set everything up first and then grab the Munchkins.

We arrived at the campsite and had a hell of a time setting everything up... once again thanks to some amazing campers next door to us that helped us set up the pop-up camper. I'm sure they enjoyed the show from beginning to end... especially watching my partner try and back the trailer up using a U-Haul truck!

Once everything was set up, we took the truck back and then swung by our Barrie home to get Brianna. We weren't able to pick up his daughter until the next day... so first thing in the morning we went to Toronto to get the Munchkin. We flew across super fast and was back at the campsite... I can't even remember each day what we did, as it felt like one really long day instead of 7 days! We went swimming daily, watched evening movies with all the kids at the campground, enjoyed crafts, water fights, board games and plenty of temper tantrums!

Time to drop some pounds! #newyearsresolution #weightloss #gethealthy

Brianna & myself, © 2023 thismomneedswine.com

I want to start off by wishing everyone a Happy New Year... it's now 2023! I have no idea where the time goes, and there never seems to be enough time. I actually intended on publishing this post January 1st, but the time flew by too quickly.

I had a new years resolution that I failed at already. Yes, I intended on dropping some pounds and of course I put a few on. Actually, more like 15lbs since before the holiday season. I indulged a bit too much, and now my ass is feeling it. I feel sluggish, and have a hard time doing regular tasks at times. It could be a combination of the weight gain, along with the severe anemia. I did finally get an appointment with a specialist to go for iron infusions... it only took me about two years! I have the consultation in April and get a date for starting treatment.

Pursuing Professional Goals at Home

With people living busier lives, many people who want to go to school and obtain higher qualifications cannot do so because of their commitments at work and home. Rather than let your aspirations go entirely, you can earn qualifications like an anesthesia MOCA from home. This coursework can be done without you having to drive to a school or training facility. You can also take the courses at your convenience.
