This post is sponsored by Nutrience, PetSmart, and the BlogPaws Professional Pet Blogger Network. I am being compensated for helping spread the word about the launch of Nutrience Subzero in PetSmart Canada but A Spicy Boy, A Cat, and My Fat Ass only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. With the holidays quickly approaching and the year coming to an end, it means that the new year will be here before you know it. Many of us continuously make annual resolutions year after year, and a huge majority of us usually choose to try and become healthier. For as long as I can remember, I've always had some type of weight loss, eating healthier kick every new year... especially after all the holiday goodies that I've indulged on. The same usually goes for my fur-baby Mr. Jingles... my cat. My Butterball turkey of a cat could probably lose a couple pounds... the last time he was weighed he was 16 lbs.

My fur-baby is naturally a big cat, long and tall, but his ideal weight would be around 13-14 lbs. I've tried him on a number of weight management cat foods in the past, and nothing seems to fully work to help him get down to his ideal weight. I notice that one of the main issues with most pet foods when it comes to weight loss, is that they contain way too many fillers. Just picking up many of the bags, you can tell that they feel lighter than the regular dry food. I've started to believe that a diet that's high in protein, would be most beneficial to help aid in his weight loss journey. With that said, I can't wait to try out a new brand of food... Nutrience® Subzero.

Nutrience Grain Free Subzero combines protein-rich kibble and freeze-dried NUTRIBOOST to help deliver benefits of raw in an easy to use recipe. What is NUTRIBOOST? It's where fresh meat or fish is infused with beneficial ingredients, then gently freeze-dried to lock in the natural goodness of raw.

The product is made in British Columbia, Canada, and produced in small batches for superior quality control. It contains Canadian sources of top quality protein, delivered fresh, never frozen.

There are 4 key ingredients (Green-Lipped Mussels, Pacific Cod Liver, Pumpkin, and Acadian Kelp) that make up NUTRIBOOSTTM each with their own unique nutritional benefits.

Nutriboost freeze dried inclusion contains...

  • Green-Lipped Mussels - A natural anti-inflammatory to support joint health.
  • Pacific Cod Liver - A rich source of omega-3 fatty acids for a healthy skin and coat.
  • Pumpkin - A good source of dietary fiber to support digestion.
  • Acadian Kelp - A variety of seaweed loaded with natural antioxidants to support a healthy immune system.

PET  LOVERS UNITE... JOIN IN THE FUN!!!

On Saturday, November 28th come join in the fun at your local PetSmart store. There's a national in-store demo event, PLUS try subzero for zero, launch promotion, bring in a bag of competitor product and receive a bag of subzero for free!

I will be crashing at my moms place that night, so I can easily stop by the PetSmart near her home... which is what I plan to do. Mom will be babysitting the little Munchkin while I'm having fun at the event. I already told Mr. Jingles that he will be testing out a new food, which I know he will enjoy... he loves all food! So stay tuned to my update on my visit to the store, and my fur-baby's reaction to SubZero... that will be towards the end of this month.

Interested in checking out PetSmart's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram? Of course you are... you never know when you may come across a deal!

  1. I hope he loves the new food a lot! My cat is so finicky. She'll go on hunger strikes, the little booger. I'll see if she likes this kind though.

  5. Have you tried playing with him twice a day? Having him chase a stick with a string on it. That will help loose the weight. Beauitful cat though. I have 2 cats myself that I love a lot.
