The Clear Braces Advantage
If you're like most people, you want the straight teeth without all of the effort of wearing braces for months or years. There is a solution. A cosmetic dentist in St Louis can offer clear braces that will make it look like you aren't wearing any at all while still getting the beautiful teeth you desire. You will even find a few advantages to this type of orthodontic treatment compared to the metal braces that can sometimes make you look like you have railroad tracks instead of dental equipment.
Clear braces aren't really braces at all. They are actually a plastic tray that is placed in the mouth after a mold is made of the teeth. After one to two months, another tray is made to match the teeth as they will straighten with each one made. A benefit is that you can remove the tray while you are eating so that you can enjoy the foods that you wouldn't be able to eat with traditional braces. This means that if you want popcorn or chewing gum, you are free to put them in the mouth without worrying about a bracket breaking off or something getting wrapped around a bracket for you to later clean.

Not All Emergency Dental Services Are Created Equal
The holidays are no fun when you have a dental emergency. Your regular dentist is out-of-town until the following Monday and the substitute he left in his place is unavailable as well. Now what? Today, thanks to the Internet's fast search engine capabilities, there are many oral physicians available for when that unforeseen dental event happens.
Keeping regular hours as always, emergency dentist Brooklyn professionals such those found at Park Slope Dentistry, are ready for most dental emergencies--often after hours and/or weekends. Their specially trained staff can give those in need specified instructions, contact the oral physician for you and recommend your next step. They may even suggest that you get in touch with an oral dentist replacement if you need him.
Typical Emergency Dental Services
Let's face it: Not all dental offices offer emergency services. When checking through your online search engine, make sure that these basic services are provided as a minimum.
- Tooth pain relief from biting a bit of ice or a piece of candy is one service that should be provided.
- Emergency extractions are sometimes necessary; however, they don't have to hurt much if done properly.
- Emergency root canals often need an ongoing treatment, yet they are no more unpleasant that a regular tooth refill. Whatever your emergency dental need, oral physicians and their specially trained staffs are there to help give you and your family the painless help you need. Today, find your backup plan for any sudden dental emergency via online listings on the Internet--quickly, conveniently and effectively.

Are you scared of the dark? Or just your Dentist: How to conquer Dental Phobia.
To many Americans there’s nothing more terrifying than a visit to their dentist. It’s estimated that 75% of people living in the United States suffer from some sort of dental fear, which is commonly known as dental phobia. Many people even claim that just the noise from a dental drill triggers anxiety and dread leaving them shaking in their boots. But what brings on this visceral response? For many, they might have had a bad experience first hand, such as not enough numbing during a procedure, but for others, the fear is simply a direct result of hearing dentist-gone-wrong exposes from friends or the media. Here’s a list of how to ease dental phobia and make the experience pleasurable.
Distract yourself – What do most people do in any uncomfortable situation? They have a distraction planned out. Don’t be nervous about having a family member or friend sit in the office with you during your dental appointment. Sometimes having a little moral support can go a long way, and people close to you will be happy to support your healthy teeth habits. Also, in this age of technology, don’t forget to fully charge your tablet, smartphone or iPod and bring them along. Listening to your favorite relaxing tunes or even watching a chunk of your favorite movie on your iPad while in the dental chair can distract you from the actual reason you’re there.
Treatments – Dental phobia can be treated just like any other anxiety based fear, similar to being scared of the dark. There are chemical and natural ways to limit the direction of the fear. For example, people who suffer greatly can visit a therapist to discuss the situation and how to move forward with dental procedures. Talk therapy is often a good option for those wiling to put in the time an effort to figuring out the root of the problem. It’s also well documented that learning basic relaxation techniques, such as rhythmic breathing, can help relieve dental phobias. For people with a little bit more stress, there is always the option of sedation dentistry. This is a great option for those who cannot stand seeing the dental tools or have a bad gag reflex. In these situations, the physician will perform the entire procedure or cleaning while you are under a type of anesthesia. Dentists often use nitrous ox ide, which is inhaled through a mask over your nose and mouth. Ultimately, it is crucial to work with your dentist to find the right combination.
Find the right dentist – It might sound simple, but not every dentist is created equal and finding the right match for you will make going to their office so much easier. Everyone spends time researching the best restaurants so why not spend the same time finding a reputable dentist to care for your mouth. To find the best of the best, you can use the tools set up by TopDentists.com. Through the end of September site visitors will rank their dentists and a third party will tabulate the results, to rank the top 100 dentists in the United States. Those selected will be posted by the end of the year. Using online tools like this one, or even word of mouth, will help you find the right match for who should take care of your teeth. It’s important to have someone that you not only trust, but is an expert in their field as they will be able to best cater to your needs.

My Wonderful Day!
Today was an exciting day... yes I'm being sarcastic when I say that! Mom woke me up via the phone at around 12pm... wasn't happy being woken up, but oh well. I had to go get blood work, in which I've been putting off for over a month now. The dietitian hasn't been very happy about that. So I finally went, and had to wait and wait and wait. I just love giving about a dozen vials of blood and peeing in a cup. Naturally I forgot I had to pee in a cup, and had gone before leaving my house. Do you think I could pee when I got there?! Ummm... I was in the washroom for over ten minutes trying and hoping some would come out.
