How to Wear Jeans like the Stars

With the cooler temperatures creeping in, people all over the nation are beginning to dust off their winter wardrobe. Selecting the right denim to wear is always dependent on the style changes and the current trends. Fortunately, this year more than ever, there seems to be a broad selection of women’s jeans from distressed, to skinny, to Mom jeans, to the classic dark denim. Choosing a style and fit that is the best match for you is entirely a result of your preference and body type. Here are some tips on how you can wear your jeans like the stars.

Classic Denim and Boyfriend Jeans

The skinny jean trend has been pretty consistent for a lengthy period of time. Even now, it hasn’t ended which means you can continue to wear your favorite skinnies and remain stylish and trendy. However, an up and coming style of “boyfriend jeans” are a bit more loose fitting and comfy. At first, they may appear intimidating to someone who favors the polished look of a pair of skinny jeans.

Fortunately, there are lots of little ways to take a pair of boyfriend jeans and make them attractive, flattering, and incredibly stylish. A popular way to wear them is to pair them with pumps or some other heel and to cuff the bottoms to add dimension. Remember, your cuffs don’t have to be perfectly even and wrinkle free. Rather, scrunch up the bottom of your pants effortlessly to achieve a laidback yet trendy look. These jeans can also be paired with anything from a crop top, to a V-neck with a statement necklace, to everything in between. When the weather cools even more, a simple button down with a leather jacket and stylish clutch can be the perfect ensemble for a day out on the town.

Distressed Denim & Retro Styles

Retro jeans are also making a comeback and feature a unique silhouette of their own. The flat front occasionally features pockets, and a wide leg sets it apart from other styles of denim. For just about everyone, this design is best worn when paired with some kind of heel. Wedges or chunkier shoes in general are a great way to juxtapose your outfit and create dimension.

Patchwork Jeans

Patchwork denim is another trend that may seem a bit intimidating at first glance. However, when worn properly, it can look effortless or incredibly chic and modern. A ripped jean with a pair of printed sneakers and a solid t-shirt can combine to create a laidback and effortless look. On the other hand, patchwork denim with a pair of pumps, a button up, and a blazer are one surefire way to appear chic and modern.

No matter your preference for denim styles, remember that with the right accessories and clothing ensembles, you can make nearly any design of jean work for you!
