The sun damage is done… now what? Now you whip up this face mask to get your skin back on track

Let’s be honest. You aren’t always going to slather on the sunscreen every 2 hours. Nor are you going to sit out a gorgeous summer day just because the sun will do a number on your skin. Which leaves us with hyper pigmentation (patchy skin and evil spots, in plain English), a dull and dehydrated complexion and the hastening of fine lines and wrinkles. Any solutions?

Thankfully, yes. This DIY face mask will undo the sun damage with a power-punch of skin lightening tannins, smoothness boosting enzymes and free radical busting vitamin C. No, this does not give you the license to bake 24×7. Nor will it ward off the sun’s potential for skin cancer. Consider it to be more like an antibiotic you take to stave off occasional damage rather than a supplement that replaces sunscreen.

You will need...

1 apple, peeled and pureed
juice of 1/2 lemon
2 tablespoons powdered milk
How to make the mask

1. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl till you get a paste-like consistency.

2. Apply this paste all over face and neck, avoiding the eye area. Leave it on for 15 minutes, then rinse with plain water.

3. Store the remaining paste in the refrigerator up to 1 week.
