Day 3: 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways - Win 4 Awesome Books From Viva Editions!

I'm not one who will pick up a novel and read it, nor am I someone who reads the newspaper. I do however, read stuff online, as well as read and collect recipes. I'm not a professional chef, but I do enjoy experimenting in the kitchen, and following and trying out new recipes... to make them my own. I recently came across the company Viva Editions, which is a book company that offer all kinds of books... especially ones to help you out in the kitchen!

They offer books that inform, enlighten, and entertain. The very name, "Viva!", is celebratory. And while Viva Editions is a line of books that are as fun as they are informational, the intention behind Viva is very serious... these are books that are truly helpful and intended to enhance people's lives. The company was founded at a pivotal point in time, as the stock market plummeted, the economy softened, and businesses tightened and cut back. Viva focuses on expansion, courage, and joy in life. In short, Viva is about the very best in the human spirit.

I was sent four books to review:
Lemons and Lavender, by Billie Sharp
The Lazy Gourmet, by Robin Donovan and Juliana Gallin
The Fatigue Prescription, by Linda Hawes Clever, MD
The Frugal Foodie Cookbook, by Lara Starr with Lynette Shirk

Lemons and Lavender, by Billie Sharp

This book has hundreds of ideas for a healthy, happy and frugal home. It will give you tools to help you reclaim a purer, yummier, healthier and less expensive way of living. The author shares her approach to budgeting in this step-by-step guide to the good life... which I found to be quite useful in my home. I read this book from start to finish the first day I received it.

Learn how to cook healthy meals for pennies, cure minor maladies from the kitchen cabinet, save big dollars with small repairs to household appliances and eco-clean your house with lemons and lavender. Billee Sharp’s friendly voice and practical wisdom prove that thrift is a virtue.

Creative ideas inside Lemons and Lavender:
 • Garden-to-table recipes for every meal
 • Eco-deco ideas for furnishing your home
 • Recipes for nontoxic cleaners, house paint and more
 • Start a seed sharing garden with your neighbors

Every recipe uses minimal amount of ingredients, in which most homes would regularly carry most of the ingredients on hand.
