I like to refer to myself as a Sleeping Beauty, but sometimes falling asleep or staying asleep is quite hard for me. With my anxiety and the occasional panic attack, nighttime I'm usually wide awake. So anything that can help me sleep better, I'm willing to try... and that's when I came across a company called Sleep 'N Beauty. They don't sell anything that you would take to help you sleep, it's a bedding company that sells high end silk products. Who doesn't love the feeling of silk against their skin? Owning a set of silk sheets and pillow cases should help bring me to my slumber, and have sweet dreams.
Other then the obvious of silk feeling better then cotton, there are plenty of benefits to sleeping on silk. Ever notice after a nights worth of sleep you wake up with creases on your face and body? Even though those creases disappear throughout the day, that doesn't mean that it isn't damaging your skin. As we get older, our skin becomes more fragile, which means those sleep lines take longer to disappear... which can eventually contribute to wrinkles.

We spend a third of our lives in bed. By the time we are 60, we will have slept for an average of 20 years.

So, what’s the big deal about silk? What is it about silk that helps us stay young and beautiful?
Silk pillowcases are Anti-Aging
First and foremost, there is documented research to show that sleeping on silk pillowcases prevents aging. Silk contains natural proteins and 18 essential amino acids which also help to counter the effects of aging.
Silk Pillowcases Are Hypoallergenic
Because of the small areas between the individual silk threads there is not much space that allows dust and other allergens to sit and irritate your skin, eyes, or nasal passages. Additionally, the smooth nature of silk allows many of the things that may hide in traditional cotton pillowcases to simply glide away, leaving you to sleep and breathe easier through the night.
Silk is less Absorbent Than Cotton
One of the properties of cotton is its ability to absorb many times its weight of a liquid. Silk doesn’t do that. It is absorbent, yet its absorbency is at about 11%. That means it will absorb some sweat and face cream, yet not nearly as much as cotton. What this means is your face will stay moisturized for longer than with cotton or linen. In other words, sleeping on a silk pillowcase can actually make your skin look better and younger over time than it would if were you sleeping on a cotton pillow case. Expensive night creams stay where they are supposed to be…..on your skin.
Silk Pillowcases Are Great For The Hair
Say the word “silk” and it will evoke certain images in ones’s mind. One of the most common images is the smooth and silky feeling of the luxurious fabric and the exquisite feeling of silk against your skin And, of course, the way that silk allows things to glide over its surface. That inherent “silkiness” means that your hair is not spending the night rubbing against surfaces that do not glide, causing friction and ultimately hair breakage and bed head.
Silk is a Temperature Regulator
Silk is a natural heat regulator which ensures that the perfect body temperature is maintained while you sleep. Base layer ski clothing is made from silk because of its wonderful properties as a temperature regulator. Silk keeps you cool when its warm and warm when its cool.
I was sent a silk pillow case for review, and I must say that it's above and beyond what I was expecting. I've owned silk products in the past, but the quality was nothing compared to these. I can't help but rub my hands, face and body against it. As soon as I opened the packaging the product was mailed in, I was greeted by a pretty green box. Very pretty presentation, which instantly made me feel a sense of happiness, tranquility, and that the product is a green product. The box alone is high quality, even the tab has a magnet to keep it closed. Once you open the box, you're greeted with a pretty green bow that is tied around the silky product, with a card tucked inside.
