Day 8: 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways - BottleHood: Glass Good From Your Neighborhood

Are you someone who has gone Eco friendly at home? Or maybe you're in the process of making your home Eco friendly? I am someone who has been recycling for quite a few years now, and use energy saving appliances and light bulbs. While online I came across a unique company called BottleHood. They're a company that creates every day items by using recycled wine, beer, liquor and soda bottles. Some of their gorgeous creations include: jewelry, lighting, shot glasses, tumblers, vases, dishes and glasses, candles and much more!

Did you know that glass takes more than 4000 years to decompose? BottleHood glassware is made from bottles reclaimed from local restaurants, bars and events, much of which was on its way to a local landfill. When I read that on the insert of the product that I received for review, I couldn't believe how long glass takes to decompose. Makes you want to recycle at all costs, doesn't it?

The item that I received for review was the Recycled Glass Bottle Three Strand Necklace. The chain that it was on, was the Antiqued Copper and it looks far much prettier then the photos! I'm quite impressed at how nice glass looks for jewelry, and proud that it's helping the environment. The exact necklace that I received isn't quite listed, as the round glass color is different. I'm not too sure what type of glass bottle that was used, but it's more of a light blue color. The style is exactly as the picture to the right, just different color!

With the product being glass, it was well packaged for delivery. It came wrapped in a small zipped clear plastic bag, and then wrapped in bubble wrap. And then on top of that the envelope had a bubble wrap layer! The necklace arrived without a scratch or crack, and I'm impressed at how it looks on. I've had compliments on it, and people asking where I got it!
