Kanye West ruins Taylor Swift's big VMA moment

Way to ruin Taylor Swift's big night at the VMA awards.

When Taylor was on stage making her acceptance speech for winning Best Female Video award, Kanye ran out onto the stage and took the microphone from her to give a shout-out to Beyonce, one of the other nominees.

"Taylor, I'm really happy for you. I'll let you finish," Kanye told an obviously stunned Taylor. "But Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time ... one of the best videos of all time!"

The camera showed a stunned Beyonce in the audience, mouth open in disbelief at what she was seeing. And poor Taylor stood by speechless before some in the audience began to boo Kanye as he left the stage.

You know, I think he made a good point, but he chose the wrong moment to make it.

Boo, Kanye.

In a super-classy gesture, when Beyonce won Video of the Year for "Single Ladies" toward the end of the evening, she said she remembered what it was like being nominated for a VMA at age 17 with Destiny's Child. Then she called Taylor back to the stage, saying "I'd like Taylor to come out and have her moment."

And when Taylor came out on the stage, she joked, "Maybe we could try this again," to loud applause.
