It's Been a Fun-filled Week!
I used to always complain that my grandmother never threw a damn thing out. I would tease her that she was a borderline hoarder! Well, I'm happy to say that since she rarely throws anything out, she still has most of my baby clothes. Yes, she had stashed some newborn and toddler sized dresses, which I'm excited for my little angel to wear. Can't believe that my daughter will be wearing the clothes that I wore almost 35 years ago... and the type of dresses are hard to find these days. There's so many gorgeous ruffly dresses, all in almost new condition.
Since she had them put away in the cedar-chest, they all smelled like the wood... she's been having fun hand washing everything, and drying them in the sun on the balcony. I already have half of them put away in the babies room, and looking forward to seeing what other goodies are coming my way.
She Wrote A Letter To The Woman In Line Behind Her At The Grocery Store And It’s Beyond Powerful
Andrea is a mother of five and runs a wonderful blog she calls, True Stories of a Midwest Yankee. One of her latest posts about an experience at the grocery store is beginning to gain a lot of attention, touching the hearts of people all across the country. I had to re-post it, as it really touched me. After reading it, you will see why…
Dear woman behind me in line at the grocery store,
You don’t know me. You have no clue what my life has been like since October 1. You have no clue that my family has gone through the wringer. You have no clue that we have faced unbelievable hardship. You have no clue we have been humiliated, humbled, destitute.

Pursuing Professional Goals at Home
With people living busier lives, many people who want to go to school and obtain higher qualifications cannot do so because of their commitments at work and home. Rather than let your aspirations go entirely, you can earn qualifications like an anesthesia MOCA from home. This coursework can be done without you having to drive to a school or training facility. You can also take the courses at your convenience.

Hospital Labor Checklist!
I'm currently at 31 weeks in my pregnancy, and that means that I could go into labor anytime now. Of course I'm praying I will go the full 40 weeks, although with my health issues that is highly unlikely. Since the day is quickly approaching, I decided to make a list of some things that should be packed waiting to go... you never know!
For labor...
__ Robe and/or nightgown
__ Slippers
__ Socks
__ Old nightgown or t-shirt to wear during labor
__ Hair tie, in case you want your hair tied up
__ Relaxation materials ( books, magazines, music, etc.)
__ Toiletries

What’s in Kate Middleton’s post-baby beauty kit? And why we all need to stock up on these, kiddo or not
![]() |
| Custom illustrated by Kristina Hultktantz |
Enough has been written about Kate Middleton’s extensive beauty routine. From her favorite Bobbi Brown makeup to her cult classic blowouts (even straight out of the delivery room!), the $35,000+ annual maintenance costs add up to a lot of primping – and now she has to change just about all of it post-baby. Again. Because duchess or not, having a baby is a total game changer. Skin throws out new problems everyday, hair is deprived of volume and shine building chemicals and the body goes totally out of whack.
So, from combating dark circles to keeping that luscious hair in place, even the Duchess of Cambridge will require a few tricks to look (and feel!) beautiful while re-adjusting to having a brand new baby in the house. Keeping this in mind, we have a whole care-package-of-sorts ready should she have been too busy with the little princess to think about her beauty routine.
Baby + bump
While we adore that cute little belly Kate sported in her very first post-baby appearance, judging by her quick bounce-back after Prince George’s birth, we know this perma-polished new mum will want to get back in shape soon enough. Cue: Mama Mio’s Skin Tight Toning Serum ($39) to tackle post-pregnancy crepey skin. This is perfectly complimented by Angelique’s Massage Balm (£9.79), which is so gentle it can be used on both mother and baby. Little wonder both are cult amongst A-Listers.

Overcoming Marriage Challenges in a Beneficial and Stress Free Way
Many people have issues within their marriage. It is simply how the nature of marriage is. You will not get along all of the time. You will disagree on big things. There will be times that you will want to call it quits and get a divorce. Divorce is not always the answer, but sometimes it is. Sometimes, the best thing for the two of you is to end the marriage on terms that you can both agree on. A marriage is measured by success. That can mean how long it lasts and how in love the two are or it can mean how well the couple managed to end things together.
Beauty recipe: This DIY face pack wants to protect your skin from air pollution
While focusing on sun protection, we usually forget another major skin culprit: Pollution. Think smog. Dirt. Dust. Car exhaust. Industrial emissions. Heavy metals. Household vapors. Cigarette smoke. And so much more that doesn't just damage the ozone layer but also wreaks havoc on our complexions, along with being practically impossible to avoid. In fact, science reveals that pollution is the second most harmful element for skin, after the sun.
How exactly does pollution wreck our skin?
1. Pollutants play a double whammy by depleting our skin’s protective antioxidants and increasing the number of free radicals in the air. This makes skin at least thrice more vulnerable to damage, peppering it with premature fine lines and wrinkles, acne, rashes, eczema, discoloration and dullness.
2. Pollution also dehydrates the skin and depletes its natural oils. When this happens, our skin cells contract and lose shape, so they can no longer create a strong protective barrier. A weak barrier causes increased skin sensitivity, chronic inflammation and vulnerability to infections, allergies and acne.
3. Besides this, pollution decreases the production of collagen, causing skin to lose elasticity. This leads to sagging, a rough texture, fine lines and premature ageing.

Random Testing: Drug Testing Kits
If you suspect that someone might be using drugs, rapid drug testing kits can determine an answer so that the proper actions can be taken. These tests are ideal for those who deal with the court system, such as those who are on probation or parole. If the officer suspects that the person has been using drugs when they aren't supposed to, a test can be given. The results are ready in a short time, and if the test is positive, then the results can be given to the court in order to determine the proper punishment.
Another option is for students who play sports. Coaches can randomly use the drug test if they think that an athlete might be using any kind of drug while before a game. Employers can also use a rapid drug test either before hiring someone or if there is a suspicion of an employee working while under the influence of an illegal substance. A drug test is a tool for employers to use in order to find the workers who are dedicated to the job compared to those who might not want to be at work in the first place. Medical professionals as well as those who operate heavy machinery are among the workers who are randomly tested.

Having A Hard Time Adjusting: Pregnancy Body
For as long as I can remember I've always struggled with my weight. Growing up as a kid, I was made aware of my weight issue and had been placed on almost every diet known to man. At one point in my life I had ballooned well over 300 Lbs, and truly hated my life at that time. It took a lot of soul searching to get up the courage, to work at losing a huge portion of the weight. The last couple years I managed to get down below 200 Lbs, and I was fairly satisfied, and still had goals that I was working on when it came to weight loss. My next goal was 175 Lbs, and I haven't met that as of yet.
I have been blessed with finding out that I'm pregnant, whereas, I was always told that I would most likely never give birth to my own child - due to health issues. I'm currently 28 weeks pregnant, and having a hard time dealing with the issue of putting on weight. So far I'm at an even 200 Lbs, and terrified of putting more on. I had put on some weight, but then actually lost some. The early months of the pregnancy I had gone up over 210 Lbs, but somehow managed to drop 10 Lbs. Looking at myself in the mirror I'm supposed to see the pregnancy beauty - glow... I just see that I'm a huge hippo. My stomach looks huge, almost like when I was obese before. I hate my body... I feel so fat and ugly and uncomfortable. Nothing fits, and I can't exactly afford pregnancy clothes... which makes me wish I kept some of my old fat clothes from the past.
For those of you who have been following my blog for some time, you most likely read up on my weight loss journey... the gastric bypass surgery and other surgeries I've had. The doctors warn everyone who have the surgeries, of the hanging skin, possible health problems that can come after, etc.... nothing prepared me for this. Dropping weight does help, however, it's still something that is a daily struggle. No doctor can change the thoughts that are in your mind... they will always be there. If you're obese and trying to lose weight, no weight loss pill, diet plan, or surgery will fix your bad habits... it's got to come from within. Having an eating disorder, no matter what type, is a major struggle that will haunt you.
So that's where I'm at right now... my daily struggle to make sure that I eat healthy so that my little angel can grow, but at the same time trying to love myself even when I feel pregnant and fat. Today is a slight downer, but hopefully tomorrow I will be smiling.

Stressed? Exhausted? At the end of the road? Your Skin NEEDS this DIY face mask
What is life without a bit of stress? And we all know what stress. Acne, lack of radiance, dryness, dullness, wrinkles, rashes… it’s not a pretty sight. Especially with summer looming. This is definitely NOT the time to battle with horrid skin.
While I can’t actually take away your stress (sorry!), here’s a solution to the skin woes at least. The honey in this anti-stress face pack is super hydrating, to keep skin supple and glowy. Plus, its enzymes soften the skin, while antiseptic and anti-fungal elements penetrate clogged pores to draw out impurities, thus tackling breakouts, reducing redness and calming inflammation.
Carrots are a terrific source of antioxidants, which neutralize the effect of stress and environment-induced free radicals. Their beta-carotene boosts the renewal process of skin cells, besides helping to nourish, tighten, revitalize and rejuvenate the complexion. Baking soda is alkaline in nature and hence disrupts the growth of bacteria (without disrupting the pH balance of the skin) to help fight acne.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons honey, 1 teaspoon fresh carrot juice, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
How-to
Pour all the ingredients in a small bowl and stir well. Apply this paste all over your face and leave it on for 20 minutes. After that, remove the mask with lukewarm water. Finally, dip a cotton ball in rose water (or plain mineral water) and gently dab it all the face and neck.
How do you keep yourself sane when the world is spinning out of control?
