Day 4 Liquid Diet: Not Feeling So Hot

Last night was a terrible night when it comes to the liquid fast. My stomach didn't agree with the liquid, and it felt like it was burning inside. It only lasted for maybe half an hour. Then of course I had a headache from hell. I also notice that the Optifast 900 seems to act like a laxative for my body. I can't seem to be able to do anything without having to run to the toilet. Great eh?! Just what I love to talk about first thing in the morning! I want to share everything that's going on, just in case anyone else is going through the same thing, or thinking of gastric bypass surgery.

Day 3 of Liquid Diet

I have to say that today is better than yesterday. I learned that the Optifast 900 goes down much easier when it's properly blended, and tastes like a real smoothie if you blend it with ice. It only fills me for a couple hours though, and the hunger pains return to drive me crazy.

It's day 3 of the liquid diet and I have gone from 275.5Lbs to 269Lbs... not bad for a start! I wonder how much I'll drop by the time I have the surgery on March 8th?! I sure hope it will get easier as the days go by. I haven't had the strong headache like yesterday, and I pray they have disappeared. I would be so happy if I can get down into the 250's by surgery. It would be amazing if I could hit 199Lbs by summer. I pray everything goes well.

Day 2 of Liquid Diet

Day 2 of my liquid diet and every commercial on TV is making my mouth water. My neighbour is cooking some sort of beef and it makes me want to attack like a savage wolf! I'm getting moody... moodier then usual! I hope the hunger pains and headache disappears eventually... I hope it will get easier soon.

It's freezing cold here, so one of our town's clever stray cats found a way to keep warm: hiding under the hood of a parked car. This is a common scenario - the cat accesses this part of the vehicle from underneath, like an investigative mechanic - but obviously it can be fatal for the animal once ignition happens and the engine heats up. Happily, this cat - a sweet, friendly, gray-and-white fellow wearing a flea collar - made his presence known by...urinating.


"We were driving and we started smelling cat pee," said Florence Giordano, who opened her car hood to find the kitty sitting on the battery! A quick scan at the vet revealed that the cat has no microchip, so Florence named him Lucky.

Beautiful Summer Pallor

You know what I really hate? That as soon as summer comes along, the big fashion "must" is to get instantly tan and bronzed...and if you have pale skin, better hit the tanning salon or start fake baking. I truly think this trend is strongly influenced by the many beauty companies that have created a multi-billion dollar industry selling tanning products, self-tanners, bronzers, and the like. Ads in magazines showing perfectly bronzed beauties, supposedly lying on a yacht all day in the French Riviera sipping champagne and celebrating parties later to be seen on Girls Gone Wild, make us paler girls and boys feel rather alienesque. Fair skin is on the "out" lists and women are advised to hop to it and do something about that horrible, sickly, white skin.

Say A Prayer For My Friend

Do you ever get that feeling that you know something isn't right? I had that feeling the last few weeks since I wasn't able to get in touch with one of my close friends. She finally called me this evening, and I was so sad to find out the stress she has been going through. I was getting worried... it's not like her to not call back. She had gotten married two months ago, and she told me the bad news that her husband... soon to be ex, turned out just like my ex husband.

I had tears in my eyes hearing all the details... I know exactly how she feels, and no woman should have to put up with abuse from a man. I feel so sad that she's depressed and feels all alone... I know it too well. It's time for me to get over my anxiety and try to be there for her, and say a prayer.

I haven't gone bowling since my first boyfriend back in highschool. However, my fiance and I bowl using the Wii on a regular basis... and I always kick his butt!

Eden Fantasys: My To Buy List!

I lost 4Lbs since last weeks weigh in, and I didn't really change anything in my diet. This week will be a crazy week... I start my liquid diet on Tuesday, so I'll be curious what next weeks weigh in will be. That's right, two weeks away from surgery! I'm not nervous yet, but I'm sure I will be once it gets closer.

For the last couple years my PCOS has been completely out of control. My Crazy Monday!

Since I can't sleep I figure I might as well update everyone about my wonderful Monday. Woke up way too early for my liking, but I had no choice since I had my pre admission appointment today. I have to say that it was more organized compared to the last surgery I had. Before it was a maze of places I had to go for registering, blood tests, and an ECG. Today everything was done in one room... it was the doctors that came to us.

As usual they had trouble trying to take blood. Lucky me... the woman decided to use one of the veins in my hand. I don't normally squirm or make a face while taking blood, but this crazy lady was moving the damn needle around trying to get my blood. My hand is still paining and bruised. Good thing was we were there less then three hours.

Well Yes! My fiance came over after work and we went out to dinner at Red Lobster. Mmmm! I had Atlantic Salmon with mashed potatos and broccoli, ceaser salad, and lobster pizza. Vivek had the Shrimp trio, ceaser salad, and lobster pizza as well. Damn we were stuffed!
